Five major awards—“ACE-Quality Performance,” “ACE-Product Design,” “ACE-Sales and After-sales Services,” ”ACE-New Cars” and “ACE-Self-owned Brands” were announced at the ceremony, and 18 auto brands from 16 outstanding automakers received the rewards. SAIC’s Roewe750 was awarded the “ACE-Self-owned Brands;” FAW-VW’s Magotan was the winner of the “ACE-New Cars;” FAW-VW Audi, Brilliance BMW, and Dongfeng Honda were the first three winners of the “ACE-Sales and After-sales.” In the mini sedan, small-sized sedan, compact sedan, middle-sized sedan, middle- and large-sized sedan, MPV, SUV, mini bus, and light bus market segments, Benben, SX4, Sagitar, Magotan, Roewe750, Buick GL8, CRV, Chang’an mini bus, Jinbei were awarded the “ACE-Product Design;” Spark, Fit, Corolla, Camry, BMW-5 Series, Touran, Tucson, Wuling, Transit were awarded the “ACE-Quality Performance.”
The “ACE Survey” was officially kicked off by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China and Sinotrust in August, 2006. In accordance with the principles of science, professionalism, objectivity and authority, Sinotrust-created Customer Satisfaction Research System that is getting in line with international standards and suitable for the Chinese auto market has been recognized as the most rational and authoritative auto consumer satisfaction survey in China. Beginning from 2000, Sinotrust has successfully developed the China Passenger Car Customer Satisfaction Research in eight consecutive years.
Currently, ”ACE” is a survey covering a full variety of vehicle models—basic models, SUVs, MPVs, and all the passenger car portfolios including mini buses and light buses. It has five evaluation indicators: APS, IQS & PQS, PPS, SS, and ASS. The “ACE 2007,” kicked off in September 2007, recruited various auto users in 33 cities, conducted face-to-face interviews with 16,000 car owners, and gave an overall satisfaction evaluation of 172 production car models in the domestic market, lasting more than four months.
The better understanding of the characteristics of the Chinese market and the suitability for Chinese consumers make “ACE” distinctively different from other foreign auto customer satisfaction studies. The results of the “ACE” survey will become the standards and rules for service improvement in China’s auto sector, and will be regarded as the important basis for automakers to improve their products and services. Also, it will guide auto consumers in car purchases.
